Some say im flirt, sometimes i agree to tht if i go overboard.
But no, I find im just treating thm like my blood-brothers.

Life is tough.
Dress down and you are a slob. Dress up with a hint of cleavage and you are a slut. Keep quiet and you are a snob. Mingle freely at a party and you are a flirt.
Argh ...
These thoughts occured to me whn a guy fren described me as flirty. I glared at him. If looks cld kill, he'd be dead.
I was insulted becos i associate tht word with sexual flings, wch i am definitely not into. My last attempt at a fling involved me puckering my lips to kiss a poster of model Markus Schenberg.
I am a one-man woman, thank you very much.
Aft i simmered down, i realised th offensiveness of th word rly depends on th definition. Thr's flirting and thn thr's flirting.
My longman's dictionary defines flirting as behaving towards ppl as if you find thm sexually attractive w/o seriously wanting to be with thm.
Th lexicographer did not specify wht these sexually-motivated behaviours are, and thr lies th ambiguity.
Does telling a colleague he has a nice tie count? Does openly admiring the biceps of a gym buddy count? Does giggling at th hilarity of a man's pick-up lin at a pub count? If so, I am a flirt.
But wht's wrong with appreciating a joke and paying a compliment whn it is due? I consider myself as friendly, not flirty. I like to believe tht i shower sunshine and can make someone's day w/o much effort.
I am not going to suppress my natural responses just becos th recipent happens to be a male. Granted, sometimes a friendly conversation with a man can escalate into a repartee tinged with naughtiness. But surely we have not become so narrow-minded as to see such banter as a real come-on. Come on.
Who could truly claim tht they have nvr been extra sweet to a stranger to get quicker service or a more favourable reception?
I have not reached tht sublime state whr i am above fluttering my lashes at a traffic policeman to try to avoid a parking ticket, not tht i cld ever pull it off convincingly.
Flirting is harmless fun.
Thn agn, maybe not, if a research by Britain's Social Issues Research Centre is to be believed.
Researcher leader Kate Fox said: "Men find it particularly difficult to interpret th more subtle cues in a woman's body language and tend to mistake friendliness for sexual interest. This is not becos they're stupid or deluded, but they tend to see th world in more sexual terms thn woman."
So, how does one draw th line between friendly and flirty?
"Mind you body language," said my guy friend. "Dont flash tht half-smile of yours, dont lock eye contact, dont put on tht nasal voice and dont twirl your hair whn you talk. See, see? You are doing it agn."
And i was. Playing with my hair has become such a subconcious habit, i didnt realise i was doing it.
Perhaps i shld shave my head bald.
Or perhaps each time tht i touch my hair in front of a man, i should add th disclaimer: This is not a flirtatious act, or an indication of any romantic interest in you. Disbelieve me at your own peril.
Being friendly with a man is like walking thru a landmine - you nvr noe whn you will overstep th safe zone.
